Metnet, pilot working group in Prometia

Marianne Magnelöv, Marion Lenoir and Gro Eide presenting Metnet at Prometia Scientific Seminar in Berlin today. From 2019, Metnet will be included in Prometia as their pilot working group.

 

3rd Annual Mines & Technology conference, 29-31 May 2018 at Helsinki, Finland

Metnet at InfaconThe 15th International Ferro-Alloys Congress (Infacon XV) was held in Cape Town, South Africa from 25-28 February 2018. Metnet was represented by Elkem Technology.

Metnet on Prometia Scientific Seminar, 28-29 November 2017 in Barcelona, Spain

2017-12-01. During the event presentations about processing and recycling of primary and secondary materials were presented. About 80 participants from industry, research institutes and academia were attending. Marianne Magnelöv, coordinator of the Metnet presented the network. www.prometia.eu

Metnet provides new collaborations

2017-09-01. In the end of August, Elkem and Eydeklustret arranged a workshop where Swerea MEFOS and Metnet was invited. During the day, opportunities for future collaborations were discussed.

MEC2017, Wisła, 20-23 September 2017

2017-06-27. MEC2017 is the second joined conference, consisting of XIII International Conference on Non-Ferrous Ore Processing, XXII International Conference of Mineral Processing and LIV Symposium of Physicochemical Problems of Mineral Processing.

The annual meeting is aimed at promotion of effective collaboration between business and academia. You will have a great opportunity to present and discuss theoretical ideas and their practical applications in all aspects of mineral processing and coal preparation. The conference will cover the following topics:

Extraction of REE from secondary resources

2017-06-27. CEA and BRGM are partners in the Eramin funded project ENVIREE. The project focuses on developing environmentally friendly and efficient methods for the extraction of REE from secondary resources. Read more about Enviree

Integrated modular plant and containerised tools for selective, low-impact mining of small high-grade deposits

2017-06-09. BRGM and Extracthive are partners in the IMP@CT project. The project brings together 10 teams to develop an integrated whole system solution of switch on-switch off (SOSO) mining to improve the viability of many critical metal and other small complex deposits. Imp@ct is funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme, and runs from December 2016 until 31 May 2020.

The Focus Markets of EIT RawMaterials are ICT, energy supply, machinery & equipment, and mobility. Start-ups targeting other markets are, however, not excluded.

Meet Metnet at MinPro

2017-05-30. The matchmaking event MINPRO (MINeral PROcessing Techniques for Unlocking Primary Low Grade Complex Ores Value) will be held in Nancy, France 6-7 June. The event aims at discussing current and emerging challenges faced by european mineral processing industries around three major topics; Innovative Equipment, Process Modelling and Hydrometallurgy.

Metnets representative Marion Lenoir (Eramet Research) will be present during the whole event and will be happy to talk about your specific challanges.

Reducing the carbon footprint of the steel industry

2017-04-03. Metnets representative Magnus Lundqvist, Swerea MEFOS will participate at the CATO-ECN conference on Reducing the carbon footprint of the steel industry in the Netherlands on 19-20 April. He will present the lecture “The low carbon R & D infrastructure at Swerea MEFOS”, but is also on hand to discuss Metnet and its offer. Link to conference

Metnet consortium meeting at MPI

2017-03-28. In mid-March a Metnet consortium meeting was held at MPI in the UK. The project partners discussed how to strengthen the Metnet offer further to fit customers demands.

SCANMET V

5th International Conference on Process Development in Iron and Steelmaking

Including: 2nd International Process Integration Forum for the Steel Industry  12-15 June 2016, Luleå, Sweden

AT Scanmet, researchers from industry, institutes and universities from throughout the world meet to exchange knowledge and experience concerning process development in iron- and steelmaking. At Scanmet you will meet leading steelmaking researchers and process developers from both industry and academia,  together with decision-makers from industry and organizations.

The conference focuses on research and development activities in steel production, covering all process steps from ironmaking to continuous casting. Several sessions will also address issues concerning optimal resource usage and energy efficiency, systems analysis and optimization of industrial production systems for reduction of emissions and environmental impact. The conference spans three days in parallel sessions. In conjunction with the conference we are arranging a conference dinner and a visit to the Swerea MEFOS’s plant facilities.

The main conference topics are:

Recycling of non-ferrous metals in Krakow, Poland
